Intended use

Cipher is designed for protecting personal notes and sensitive information for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for the content you encrypt and how you share it. You may not use Cipher to store or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.

Export compliance

Cipher uses strong encryption (AES-256). Export, re-export, or transfer of this app may be subject to export control laws in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for compliance with all applicable regulations.

No warranty

Cipher is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While strong cryptographic primitives are used, no software can guarantee absolute security. Use Cipher as one layer of protection, not your sole security measure. AppLabs LLC makes no representation that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from security vulnerabilities.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AppLabs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Cipher, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of privacy.

Passphrase recovery

There is no passphrase reset or recovery mechanism. If you lose your passphrase, the encrypted note cannot be recovered by anyone — including AppLabs LLC. We have no access to your keys or your data.

Data loss

AppLabs LLC is not responsible for any data loss resulting from forgotten passphrases, device failure, accidental deletion, or app updates. You are solely responsible for maintaining copies of any information you wish to preserve. Keep backups of important plaintext content separately.

Cipher Pro

The Cipher Pro upgrade is a one-time, non-refundable in-app purchase that removes all ads permanently on the purchasing account. Purchases are managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their respective terms and refund policies. AppLabs LLC does not handle payment information directly.

Restore purchases

You may restore a prior Pro purchase on the same account at no additional charge using the "Restore Purchases" option in the app settings. Transfers between different Apple IDs or Google accounts are not supported.

AppLabs LLC may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continued use of Cipher after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
